P.R.A.G.S.

P.R.A.G.S. History

I was a member at Pitlochry Golf Club in Perthshire since 2006. One afternoon, in 2009 , after playing in the weekly medal, myself and 3 or 4 other golfing colleagues were sat around the table discussing the merits of how we had played, good or bad.

It was during this chat that I threw into the conversation the possibility of our own golfing society. This was something I had been involved with at quite a few golf clubs over the years, mainly in South Devon.

So the idea of us all having our own society was born. Once a month we would visit a local Scottish course, a round of golf followed by a meal.

So we had our players, had a plan, courses we would like to visit and play and we were ready to roll.

But we hadn't a name yet. We threw a few ideas around before plumping for P.R.A.G.S  ( Pitlochry Retired and Ancient Golfing Society )

We left Scotland to move back down to England in 2011, but Im pleased to report that P.R.A.G.S. is still going strong, with an excellent membership , with monthly outings to Scottish courses throughout the country. They now have a website and you can visit it here : https://golfwithprags.wordpress.com/
